Images from the SALIDAA digital archive have inspired pieces of creative writing by participants of the workshop series Digital Journeys: Writing from the Web .

Samena Rana's photographic compositions of fragments of materials, Amal Ghosh's colourful and suggestive paintings as well as other images from SALIDAA's collections have triggered the writers' imagination and inspired poetry and prose with wide ranging themes such as religion, crime, personal relationships, motherhood, and sexuality.

The creative writing workshops were organised by SALIDAA in partnership with literature development agency Spread the Word and Watermans' Arts Centre in May 2003 and were lead by playwright Maya Chowdhry.
